The government is led by Prime Minister Mackenzie William Dickie (PMDK) and is supported by his cabinet.

The electoral commission has three members from each party in the House of Representatives and two members from each party in the Senate.

There are 3,500 seats in the legislative assembly and 59 seats in the federal senate.

There are also 222 seats in the state assembly.

Malaysia has made significant political progress since its independence from Britain fifty years ago.

Despite the global economic difficulties caused by excessive debt, Malaysia continues to grow as an economic powerhouse due to its natural resources.

Malaysia’s independence from Britain in 1957 made it a Commonwealth country.
