Most people love waterfalls. Whether the waterfall is high or small or located in a forest or rocky area people go to see it.
One of them is that the water in the waterfall is beautiful and a bit gentle. According to science waterfalls release positive energy which reduces stress and depression while increasing energy levels and well-being.
It is not easy to choose a favorite waterfall because all of them are special. With that in mind there are seven incredible waterfalls in the United States in no particular order. You just have to believe it to see it.
Yosemite Falls

Although Yosemite Falls has a staggering 2425 feet in height it actually has three waterfalls: Upper Yosemite Falls (1430 feet) Middle Falls (675 feet) and Lower Yosemite Falls (320 feet) National Park Management Bureau. You should plan your visit in the spring after the snow at the falls melts. Since the flow at Yosemite Falls reaches its peak in May it will slow down and even dry up in August.
Yellowstone Falls

Before the Yellowstone River flows into the Yellowstones the Grand Canyon first falls into the 109-foot Upper Yellowstone Falls. Then after a quarter of a mile the river reaches Lower Yellowstone Falls which is 308 feet high almost twice the height of Niagara Falls. The river eventually became a must-see in the 1000-foot-deep Yellowstone Grand Canyon.
Cumberland Falls

Often referred to as Niagara of the South Cumberland Falls is the largest waterfall in Kentucky. The intense mist over the waterfall creates a rainbow-like moon arc that can only be seen on clear nights when the moon is full or close. This phenomenon is only seen at Cumberland Falls in the western hemisphere.
Multnomah Falls

After about a 30 minute drive east from Portland you will reach Multnomah Falls. At 611 feet the waterfall is the tallest waterfall in Oregon. According to Native American lore, Multnomah Falls was built to win the heart of a young princess who wanted a secluded place to bathe.
Akaka Falls

The state park gets its name from the 442-foot-high Akaka Falls that plunges into a ravine eroded by a small river. You can only see the falls on your own 04 mile hike from the parking lot but the hike is worth it. On your way through the lush tropical vegetation.
Whitewater Falls

At 811 feet Whitewater Falls is the tallest waterfall east of the Rocky Mountains. Upper Falls – 60 miles from downtown Asheville in the Nandahla National Forest – 411 feet drop. It dropped another 400 feet to the state line in South Carolina.
Niagara Falls

No list of waterfalls is complete without including the famous Niagara Falls. As you know the three waterfalls actually combine to form Niagara Falls. American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls American Horseshoe Falls is located on the Canadian side of the Niagara River. In total 3,160 tons of water fall every second making it the second largest waterfall in the world.
